Beiersdorf wants Hamburg to reflect innovation and growth. That is why it has opened a new corporate headquarters in the German city.

On 11 September, CEO Vincent Warnery and Labour Director Nicola Lafrentz led the inauguration and welcomed the Hamburg Senator for Business and Innovation, Dr. Melanie Leonhard. Together they started the opening ceremony of the new Beiersdorf Campus on the newly renamed Beiersdorfstrasse.

On 11 and 12 September, Beiersdorf employees will be able to enjoy a varied mix of lectures by external experts. The new site covers an area of 51,000 square metres and employs around 3,000 people at the Hamburg site. Employees have been involved in the planning process from the outset, and their specific requirements were reflected in the new working environments. This involvement took several forms, including the change network that was eventually created and the detailed planning process that involved the teams in the selection of suitable room modules based on their activity profiles. Employees also helped to select furniture and to name the different buildings.

Numerous spaces on the site are dedicated to collaboration and communication for employees. In addition to the newly constructed corporate headquarters and a new laboratory building, the Beiersdorf Campus also includes existing buildings, such as the Skin Research Centre, which opened in 2004. All buildings are connected by bridges. The site also has large outdoor areas with sports and recreational facilities for employees, as well as the company-owned Troplo Kids day-care centre. The new building was constructed according to the WELL standard. WELL focuses primarily on the health and well-being of employees: from the planning phase to the daily use of the building and the new working environments.

"With the construction of this campus, we are proud of our corporate roots. We have invested 250 million euros in the city where our success story as the inventor of modern skin care began 141 years ago," says Vincent Warnery, CEO. "The Campus offers our employees the ideal space for exchange, inspiration and the development of new ideas in state-of-the-art workspaces and thus the basis for long-term success and further growth".

Dr. Melanie Leonhard, Senator for Enterprise and Innovation in Hamburg, emphasised the company's connection to Hamburg: "Beiersdorf is part of Hamburg and has a long business tradition in the Hanseatic city. With the opening of its new corporate headquarters, Beiersdorf sends an impressive signal of its connection to Hamburg and its commitment to the future".
