Nielsen IQ has presented the latest report on Spanish consumer trends for the month of March. In the third month of the year, as the agency indicates, the drugstore and perfumery categories have increased their sales and have increased. 

However, in terms of average prices, perfumery and drugstore prices remained practically flat. Facial care products saw an increase in demand in March, but sun protection products were among the least popular categories. As was the case with consumer parapharmacy, which saw its demand fall by almost 11%. This drop in consumer demand may also be due in part to the fact that prices have risen by more than 10%, as have hair care products (8.4%). Demand for body care products also fell by 2.3%. 

Total sales of consumer goods in Spanish shopping baskets in March 2024 increased by 5.0% compared to what we spent a year earlier, boosted by demand which rose by 2.1%, while the average price rose by 2.8%, according to the latest data published by NIQ.
