Santa Eulalia presents HERITAS, Eau de Parfum, the new fragrance with which the Barcelona house commemorates the centenary of its first haute couture show, held in 1926, projecting that legacy into a new era. A solar and magnetic mousse, with an enveloping exoticism, where the audacious frangipani merges with the softness of natural vanilla: a fragrance that, like an invisible fabric, envelops the silhouette of whoever wears it.

A tribute to the first show of 1926

In 1926, Santa Eulalia was a pioneer, presenting its first fashion show, at a decisive moment that transformed the way Barcelona understood fashion, creativity, and modernity. One hundred years later, HERITAS is born to honor that foundational moment and translate it into the language of contemporary perfumery.

The fragrance distills the creative DNA of Pere Formosa, the apprentice who became a master and revolutionized the house with that first show and with creations such as Barcelona's first skirt-trousers, and reinterprets it for a new generation through three principles: minimalist refinement, noble raw materials with character, and an enveloping sillage that dresses the skin like a haute couture garment.

The olfactory signature of Chris Maurice

HERITAS has been created by Chris Maurice, a third-generation perfumer from Barcelona who fuses traditional craftsmanship with an avant-garde vision. For this fragrance, Maurice has recovered an exclusive and unreleased formula from his personal archive, reinterpreting it with a contemporary and sharp gaze. The result is a contrast between extreme refinement and a magnetic sillage, close to the skin: a natural presence that moves to the rhythm of whoever wears it.

“A solar and magnetic mousse, with an enveloping exoticism, where the audacious frangipani merges with the softness of natural vanilla. A fragrance that, like an invisible fabric, envelops the silhouette of whoever wears it.”

The olfactory architecture: three passages

HERITAS is built in three acts that evoke the experience of a fashion show:

  • The opening light: frangipani and white flowers (jasmine, rose). A modern white flower, creamy, solar and almost lactonic: exotic but subtle, like the first look of a show.
  • The advance: vanilla and iris. They provide temperature and serene volume, without excessive sweetness; warm, creamy and balsamic, like skin after the sun.
  • The closing: sandalwood, benzoin and white musk. A noble, velvety and persistent base, as ancient as perfumery itself.

Olfactory family: Modern Oriental Floral — Frangipani Mousse.

Origin and identity

Chris Maurice, who came to know Santa Eulalia through his grandmother, a regular client of Santa Eulalia, constructs an intimate portrait of Barcelona through frangipani, an exotic flower that evokes the olfactory memories of his childhood garden. In 1926, the traveling spirit of this flower inspired some of Barcelona's most iconic textile prints and tiles, the same creative energy that shaped Santa Eulalia's first fashion show. A curious fact: that same floral motif appears on the facade of the Casa dels Paraigües, in Plaça del Pi de la Boqueria, the square where Santa Eulalia opened its first store in 1843, a silent echo that connects with the frangipani note that opens HERITAS.

The commemorative scarf

To celebrate the centenary of Santa Eulalia's first fashion show, the house has created a limited edition of three natural silk scarves printed with original illustrations from the 1930s, taken from the brand's historical posters signed by J. Perajordi, Porta, and José Luis Rey Vila. Conceived as a collectible piece of the house's heritage, the scarf will be available in-store and online throughout this commemorative year.
