What is the happiness boss? Do I need it in my company? These are some of the questions posed by some of the companies that already have them. This is the case of large companies such as Coca Cola, Google or Delloite, but now, it goes a step further, because it has even managed to permeate in public administrations: no more and no less than the Belgian Ministry of Social Security has incorporated this profile to its ranks. Although it may seem new to us, it is not. It has existed since 2000 in the United States, with Silicon Valley as the pioneer.

The Chief Happiness Officer is expected to become a key figure in the business environment in the future and is already working in many companies. Its main functions are to ensure that employees can achieve optimal physical, social and emotional well-being so that the worker can develop and perform their work objectives in the best possible way. Its functions are not only there, but it also motivates them and promotes teambuilding activities.

As it indicates, eleconomista.es, as established in a study on Happiness and Work carried out by the consulting firm Sustainable Growth, having happy workers is directly proportional to high productivity in the company. This high productivity is due to the fact that the energy and dynamism of workers also grows.

The International University of La Rioja, seeing the rapid implementation of the position among some of the organizations, is the first educational institution that offers a master's degree to train these Chief Happiness Officer. In the case of Spain, the first company to incorporate this figure has been Cyberclik. An SME that has been chosen as the best place to work according to the Great place to work ranking.
