Acotex, the National Fashion Retail Association, has reported a 3.7% drop in the number of fashion retail sales in October. Compared to the same period last year, the number of sales is lower, although the trend remains positive and maintains its growth at 3.1% year-on-year.

As the association points out in its press release, they blame this decrease on the adverse weather conditions suffered at the beginning of the month, which caused Spaniards to visit fewer physical shops and points of sale.

However, Acotex is optimistic and with Black Friday, the Christmas campaign and the sales coming up they expect this result to be reversed and hope to return to positive numbers.

As the figures provided by Acotex show, the month in which fashion reached its peak was January, followed by July. As the latest data from the report 'Consumption in the 'golden quarter' 2023' prepared by KPMG and Appinio show, the categories where Spanish consumers will spend more money will be in fashion, with 71%, will concentrate a greater intention to buy by the Spaniards.
