Inditex stirs the possibility to sell his business in Russia

The activity of Inditex in the Russian country ceased in March, after the explosion of the bellicose conflict, and has not restarted still

Russia supposed the second more important market for Inditex by the number of shops that accumulated in the territory. Specifically, 502, as it indicates the portal Forbes. In the same country, achieved to invoice 240 millions in 2021, 11 millions more than in the year 2019.

The past 17 October, García Maceiras, indicated that "Inditex analyses different options and keeps exploratory conversations with regard to potential alternative." Also it referred to the situation of the almost 9.000 workers that possesses Inditex in Russia: "From the suspension of his commercial activity in Russia the past month of March, Inditex is monitoring the situation with the priority to keep the greater possible level of places of work."

As it indicates the half specialised in information and economic markets, the Russian newspaper 'Kommersant', would have informed of the interest of Inditex for transferring his active in the Russian market to partners of the south-east Asian or the Persian Gulf. What pursues after this operation the group Inditex, is can follow selling his brand 'Zara' in the Russian country. However, 'Massimo Dutti', 'Oysho' or 'Zara Home', would go out definitively of the country, and 'Stradivarius' and 'Pull&Bear' would restart again his activity, but with another name. Still like this, as it advances the agency of news 'Europe Press' "the turn to the work" by part of Inditex in Rusiia is not foreseen for before the spring of 2023.
