'GreenPeace' puts 'Shein' on the ropes

According to an experiment elaborated by 'Greenpeace' its pieces possess chemicals that break the European environmental rule

In the month of November, 'Greenpeace' published the conclusions of the study in which the association devoted to analyse the pieces to dress of the giant of the fastfashion 'Shein'.

'SHEIN' Is focus of criticisms in matter of sustainability, practically from his starts. But with the step of the years, this mark of Chinese origin that explodes the on-line channel to the maximum, has gone receiving increasingly detractores. The low prices of thousands and thousands of pieces is something that from 'Greenpeace' signal that has a very expensive cost for the planet.

The organisation environmentalist has elaborated an analysis of 'SHEIN' by means of the study of the composition of 42 articles that have bought in Austria, Germany, Italy Spain and Switzerland, in addition to 5 products more than have purchased in his shops pop-up of Munich. After receiving them and purchase them, sent them to an independent laboratory to know what hides really after the fabrics of 'SHEIN'.

After knowing the results, 'Greenpeace' published a new report that decided to present as 'The dirty cloths of SHEIN'. In him it explains how the company devoted to the 'FAST FASHION' breaks the environmental rule of the European Union regarding the chemicals and puts in risk the health of the consumers, and also of the personnel of the providers that manufacture the products.

In 'The dirty cloths of SHEIN' established that they contained dangerous chemicals that surpass the statutory limits of the EU:

  • Alkylphenol ethoxylates (APEO)
  • Folmaldehyde
  • Heavy metals in metal parts
  • Heavy metals/metalloids in plastics and coated materials
  • Nickel release
  • Extractable heavy metals
  • PFAS - Carboxylic acids and perfluorinated sulphonics
  • Aromatic amines
  • VOC detection

'Greenpeace' accuses to SHEIN to use consciously some doses near of levels no safe or greater to the allowed of these components that do not decompose, bioaccumulate.
