Spaniards spent more on drugstore and perfumery in February. As published by NielsenIQ, Spaniards also increased their shopping basket spending by 6.2% in February compared to the previous year. 

The category that rose the most was food, by 6.4% and beverages, by 6.3%, while drugstore and perfumery increased by 5.5%. This increase, according to the consultancy firm, is due to an increase in demand in the three categories mentioned above. 

NielsenIQ reports that consumers in the drugstore and perfumery category in February were more inclined towards health and care products, with an increase in demand for dietetic products and a double-digit increase in sales volume. Facial care products also rose by 13%, oral care by 9.7% and make-up by more than 7%. Facial treatments have registered a price decrease of 6.8% for the vast majority of their products.

On the other hand, among the least popular categories were consumer parapharmacy, which fell by 15.2% in February, and body care, which also fell by 4.4%.
