Beiersdorf takes over all of Clinique La Prairie's flagship properties. German company Beiersdorf signed an agreement with Clinique La Prairie at the end of February, resolving to become the owner of the company's real estate assets in the Montreux region of Switzerland.

As reported by Pharmabiz, the owner of Eucerin and Nivea is acquiring Clinique La Prairie's most significant and iconic site: a medical and health clinic where rejuvenating cosmetic products were originally researched through cell therapy in 1931. This deal by Beiersdorf also serves to strengthen ties between its wholly owned La Prairie and Clinique La Prairie Group, companies that have been separate entities since the 1980s.

The real estate complex comprises more than 23,000 square metres in seven buildings, including the flagship villa "La Résidence".

Patrick Rasquinet, a member of Beiersdorf's Executive Board, welcomed the acquisition as a way to strengthen its iconic La Prairie brand: "Clinique La Prairie and La Prairie share a common approach to luxury, longevity and exclusive customer experiences, so we are excited about the possibilities that a closer collaboration could open up," said Rasquinet. The German company's CEO, Vincent Warrent has also expressed his enthusiasm for the move, explaining on his LinkedIn account that it will invigorate his Beiersdorf luxury business and could foster a unique partnership between La Prairie Switzerland and Clinique La Prairie.

At the end of February, the German company published its results for last year's financial year with favourable figures, especially thanks to Nivea. The German company presented its financial results for the financial year 2023 with record sales of 9.5 billion euros and an organic increase of almost 11%.
