LipoTrue, the company that manufactures and creates active ingredients, has this week announced its adherence to and participation in the United Nations Global Compact. This is a voluntary initiative focused on corporate social responsibility (CSR). This means that Lipotrue is committed to follow 10 internationally recognised principles related to human rights, labour, environment and anti-bribery, as established by the Global Compact. In this way, Lipotrue also aligns its business objectives with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) established by the UN.
The Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact provide a common ethical and practical framework for businesses to become more sustainable in their strategies and operations. These principles are derived from the UN Declarations and Conventions and represent the core values that businesses should integrate into their daily practices.
The 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) have a different, but closely related, purpose for business. They are at the heart of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and represent ambitious long-term goals to create a better world. Governments, businesses and other stakeholders work together to achieve these goals and improve the well-being of people and the planet.
