In a context where consumers are increasingly demanding reliable information about skin care, the pharmacist Gema Herrerías publishes Código Piel. The manual your routine needs, a work that proposes a paradigm shift in the way of understanding, classifying, and treating the skin.

This book is not only framed as a tool for the general public, but also as a reference resource for dermocosmetics professionals, who will find in it an updated, integrative, and science-based approach. Herrerías proposes an alternative model to the classic classification of skin types, which she calls "Skin Code": a dynamic analysis system that considers functional variables, skin barrier, lifestyle, and environmental factors.

With three well-differentiated sections, Skin Code combines physiological foundations, practical analysis, and personalized routine design, including the gh Method, a systematization developed in her pharmaceutical practice. The text incorporates 12 type routines and an advanced approach for more experienced users.

With a degree in Pharmacy from the University of Seville, Gema Herrerías has more than two decades of experience at the head of A5 Farmacia, a pioneering establishment in the development of personalized dermopharmacy services. She is the founder of the firm gh Gema Herrerías, in addition to directing the GH Academy, from which she trains health professionals in dermopharmacy and nutricosmetics.

Her training ranges from pharmacy office management to executive programs at business schools such as IE Business School and The Strategic School. She has held professional representation positions in the General Council of Pharmacists and the Official College of Pharmacists of Seville, and is a regular collaborator in university master's degrees.

Her profile has been recognized on multiple occasions for her informative work and her contribution to the sector: among others, she has been named "Pharmacist of the Year" (2013), "Best Beauty Influencer" (2023), and has been included in the Forbes Woman 2024 list as one of the 50 most relevant women in the aesthetics business.

With Skin Code, Herrerías adds a new publication to her editorial career, which already includes titles such as X-ray of a cosmetic, The definitive guide to skin care and Nutricosmetics, from the intestine to the skin. “The skin is not a static entity. It evolves with us and needs routines that adapt to each vital moment. This book is an invitation to listen to it and understand it from knowledge and not from marketing”, says the author.

A proposal aligned with the professionalization of the sector

The launch of Skin Code responds to a growing trend in the cosmetic sector: the demand for expert prescription, personalization, and scientific credibility. In that sense, the book contributes to bringing dermopharmacy closer to the informed consumer and reinforces the role of the pharmacist as a key agent in skin care.
