Symrise confirms growth in Q3 2023

The German company has modified its long-term targets and expects to reach between 7.5 and 8 billion euros in sales by 2028

Symrise consolidates its growth in the penultimate quarter of the year. The German company has grown by 7.4% in terms of organic sales in the cumulative total for the year and by a total of 6.4% in the third quarter. 

In terms of turnover, the company has seen its turnover rise to 3.61 billion euros, up 3.3% compared to the same period last year, when it fell short of 3.5 billion euros.  

Sales increased organically by 6.4% in the third quarter. Negative exchange rate effects of 9.4% caused sales to decline by -3.0% in the reference currency.

The area of scents and care, in which it includes the cosmetic ingredients in addition to perfumes, has achieved a growth of the sales of 4.1% accumulated in these nine months of 2023 and 7.1% in this last quarter. In terms of sales, it accumulated almost 1.345 billion euros in the three quarters of the year, higher than the figure achieved last year when Symrise stood at 1.316 billion euros.

Sales in the Cosmetic Ingredients division continued to develop favourably in the first nine months of 2023, with double-digit organic percentage growth. The EAME, Asia/Pacific and Latin America regions significantly increased sales. Micro Protection and Sun Protection also recorded very strong growth.

The fragrances division also saw sales growth in the first nine months. The Fine Fragrances line has experienced very dynamic growth with strong sales growth in Latin America and the EAME region. The Consumer Fragrance business area also consolidated its single-digit organic sales growth.

In the same communiqué of the company, the company has confirmed his growth in these nine months of 2023 and the group corroborates a growth of sales between the 5 and 7% and has stood out this increase in spite of the increase of the inflacón and of the volitability of the markets. Symrise has advanced also which are his expectations of growth on a long-term basis and ensures that it looks forward to to reach between the 7.500 and 8.000 million euros in 2028.
