Shiseido restructures its EMEA region leadership

Alberto Noé has been chosen by the Japanese company to take over from former CEO Franck Marilly, who will now take over the chairmanship of the board

Changes at the top of Shiseido. The Japanese cosmetics and beauty brand has recently announced changes in the management and chairmanship of its EMEA region. Alberto Noé, will be the new CEO, replacing Franck Marilly, who takes over as Chairman of the Board.

The company issued a press release less than a week ago thanking Marilly for his work and time at the helm of the company. Marilly joined Shiseido in January 2018, having previously been a senior executive at Chanel in Europe and the head of the fragrance and beauty division. Franck Marilly now takes over as chairman of the board and, as the company explained, will organise and oversee the work of the board of directors, which he will report to the AGM. "Marilly will oversee the governance of the company and its subsidiaries to ensure compliance with ethical, transparency and regulatory standards, a responsibility that will contribute to the smooth running and reputation of the Shiseido Group in the EMEA region," the company said. 

Noé also has a wide experience in the sector of the cosmetic and the beauty. Noé belonged to L'Oréal and exerted like general director of Lancôme in Italy, and also has formed part of LVMH and Chanel. It incorporated to the Japanese company in 2013, as country manager in Italy and in 2019, was appointed general director for EMEA in Shiseido.

The Japanese company closed the past economic exercise with 36% less than profit that in the previous exercise. The income of the company experienced a shrinking of 8,8%, as it indicated the company, that saw wrapped in a controversy by the release to the sea of radioactive waters of the head office of nuclear of Fukushima and that suffered a boycott by part of the consumers.
