Shiseido buys DDG, owner of Dr. Dennis Gross

The Japanese cosmetics brand has now completed the acquisition of DDG Skincare Holdings, owner of Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare

Shiseido now owns DDG Skincare Holdings. DDG Skincare Holdings owns Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare, which was acquired by the American division of the Japanese cosmetics brand last December. 

With this move, as the company explained in a press release, it hopes to accelerate its prestige cosmetics business to capture opportunities in what is currently a rapidly growing market for dermatologist-developed skin care products. Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare, which previously owned DDG.

In acquiring Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare, Shiseido indicated that this deal was a possibility for future growth and to expand its presence in the Americas. Shiseido's recently acquired brand was founded in 2020 by the then researcher and dermatologist focused on the study of skin cancer. The Japanese giant has highlighted the effectiveness of the active ingredients used in the formula of the products and the philosophy that has accompanied the brand since its inception: research, dermatology and technology.
