Talking about trends today is complex. A few years ago, fashion was unidirectional, created by artists and designers. However, nowadays, this paradigm has evolved, giving way to new trends that emerge unexpectedly, influenced by viral phenomena on social networks such as TikTok and popular series such as Euphoria or Wednesday.

These viral phenomena are generated by digital content creators, who are loudspeakers on social networks. This paradigm shift has made the consumer's experience of a product or technique very relevant. Hence, brands are developing real wonders focused on improving the consumer experience, thanks to innovation, technology and the experience of experts.

Now, I'm going to talk about blusher, a fashion product par excellence. In various media it is said that blusher is the king of trends. So, let me use a word that I have found in several media and that I consider very representative of what I am talking about: "Long live the blusher".

Focusing on this phenomenon where the consumer is at the centre of the experience when designing a new product, I want to tell you not only because the specialised press says so, but also because I want to share my vision of why this product is becoming a must-have for professionals and consumers.

These are the characteristics that make this product fashionable:

  1. It's convenience. Blusher is the ultimate convenience product. That is, it is designed to be easy to use, carry and apply quickly at any time. The creamy textures make it easy to apply make-up, regardless of your ability to achieve good results.
  2. Advanced formulation. Formulas have been developed that incorporate high quality ingredients and technology to improve durability, texture, pigmentation and adhesion to the skin.
  3. Varied textures and finishes. Innovation has enabled the creation of a wide range of textures, from classic powders to modern cream or gel colours. The cream texture adapts to all types of hair, providing a radiant, natural finish or a matte finish, depending on the formula and its application.
  4. Improved pigmentation. Technology has made it possible to improve colour pigmentation, which means that less product is required to achieve the desired colour on the cheeks. This optimises product usage and improves efficiency.
  5. Innovative applicators and packaging. Applicators built into the packaging or designed specifically for blush have evolved to make application easier. For example, sponges or brushes. Stick or tube format makes application easier.
  6. Incorporation of skin-friendly ingredients: Many blushers contain skin-friendly ingredients such as vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, which not only add colour but also care for the skin. A convenience product should be a hybrid of colour and skincare. Make-up is evolving towards Colour Cosmetics.
  7. All in one: Its use on different areas of the face makes it super versatile. As well as being applied to the cheeks, it can be used on other areas, such as the lips and eyelids. With just one product, a natural and harmonious look is achieved for all levels of make-up technique. When used more intensively, a very trendy and flattering monochromatic make-up look is achieved.

Not all blushers on the market meet these requirements, but from now on you will know how to choose the blusher that will make your make-up routine easier.

Mostly, we use blusher to give colour to the cheeks and get a good face effect. However, we can go further by applying blusher to specific areas of the face to define it, add volume and highlight features. With these steps we achieve a finish called a lifting effect.

Another popular technique this summer has been the "sun-kissed" effect, characterised by applying blusher on the high cheekbones and the bridge of the nose, imitating the toasted tone after a day at the beach. This effect will continue to be popular in winter, imitating the mountain sun, called "Snow Blush". Unlike the lifting effect technique, where the blusher is applied in an ascending and very diffused way, in this last one a considerable amount of blusher is deposited, diffusing it very little and horizontally.

Being linked to the world of make-up and cosmetic products every day, I never cease to marvel at the evolution and change we are experiencing. I hope that by reading this article you will incorporate a blusher into your life.
