Vytrus Biotech, the company specialized in active ingredients derived from plant biotechnology for skin and hair care, presents two innovations at the global in-cosmetics fair – IGNILYTE™ – Bioelectric Power for Your Skin – and new research on plant-derived PDRN. It should be noted that IGNILYTE™ has been a finalist for the Innovation Awards of in-cosmetics Global 2026.
Pioneering a new scientific approach to regenerative skin care, Vytrus has developed a 100% natural active ingredient that reactivates the skin's bioelectric mechanisms to trigger a powerful self-repair cascade, offering visible rejuvenation results comparable to device-based treatments, but without the need for external equipment. This innovation is officially presented at in-cosmetics Global 2026 in Paris, on April 14, at Vytrus' stand 3D38.
The biotechnology company will show its discoveries on skin bioelectricity and will discuss the paradigm shift that this ingredient represents in the fields of skin regeneration and electrostimulation-inspired cosmetics.
IGNILYTE™ aligns with a fast-growing cosmetic trend where biotechnology, biomimetics, and non-invasive technologies converge. With this launch, Vytrus introduces device-like electrostimulation. A concept that restores the skin's energy and regenerative capacity, positioning the company at the forefront of biotechnology-based aging assets.
This new ingredient is of 100% natural origin (ISO 16128), approved by COSMOS and Natrue, complies with China, is Halal certified and is microbiome compatible.
Bioelectricity: a new biological approach for skin regeneration
The skin is more than a passive barrier: it is an electrically active tissue, capable of generating and propagating electrical impulses, like neurons. It is now known that these bioelectrical signals play a crucial role in cell communication, healing, and regeneration.
IGNILYTE™ harnesses this intrinsic capacity of the skin by activating P2X receptors, the skin's natural electrogenic gates, to mimic the benefits of advanced electroporation devices. Once activated, these receptors increase cell membrane permeability and trigger the release of eATP, a bioelectric messenger that improves communication, microcirculation, and skin repair pathways.
By reactivating this bioelectric network, IGNILYTE™ visibly revitalizes the eye contour, smooths wrinkles and firms the skin, with demonstrated results in just 14 days. This active ingredient offers rejuvenation effects with visible improvements in skin fatigue, the eye-opening angle and under-eye puffiness, all without the use of physical devices.
The science behind the Plant Electrines™
Vytrus has developed an exclusive biotechnological platform using stem cells from Hylocereus undatus (dragon fruit), a plant naturally rich in electrolytes and known for its electrical conductivity. This cactus, also called the "Queen of the Night," blooms in the dark and accumulates potassium, calcium, and sodium ions, making it a natural bioelectric conductor.
Through a patented elicitation process, Vytrus optimized these plant cells to produce a potent phytocomplex enriched in plant electrins™—a unique combination of:
- Glycoproteins and electrolytes: to activate P2X receptors and improve intracellular conductivity.
- Polyphenols and pigments: to regenerate tissue and provide antioxidant protection.
This dual-action synergy revives the skin's innate repair capacity, increases permeability and mimics mesotherapy-like effects, providing electrostimulation-like efficacy with only a topical formulation.
IGNILYTE™ represents a new era in skin regeneration, offering cosmetic formulators a sustainable and plant-based solution for:
- Energizing and lifting formulations for tired and devitalized skin
- Treatments for the eye contour that treat puffiness, sagging, and wrinkles
- Firming serums that mimic effects similar to electrostimulation
- Anti-fatigue and radiance-boosting products to revitalize visibility
Presentation of new studies on plant-origin PDRN
Parallel to this advance, Vytrus presents its latest scientific findings on plant-derived polydeoxyribonucleotides (PDRN). Traditionally sourced from salmon gonads, PDRN is highly valued in regenerative medicine for its tissue repair and wound healing properties. Vytrus has successfully identified and isolated PDRN-like molecules from its plant cell culture platforms, specifically from Daucus Carota stem cells (SENSIA CAROTA™), which offers Phyto-PDRN in lysate format, and from Centella asiatica (CENTELLA REVERSA™), which provides a synergistic blend of Phyto-PDRN and ExoPDRN™ within its secretome.
Clinical and in vitro evaluations highlight the extraordinary potential of these plant-derived molecules, which significantly increase fibroblast proliferation and stimulate collagen and elastin production to reverse cellular senescence. The main cosmetic benefits include intense skin rejuvenation, an improvement in barrier function, and powerful soothing effects on sensitive skin.
An important milestone in this research is the discovery of PDRN within plant exosomes. Beyond the already identified exosomal peptides (exopeptide™ technology) and other bioactive molecules such as resveratrol, Vytrus has now confirmed in CENTELLA REVERSA™ the presence of ExoPDRN™ in its secretome.
This demonstrates, for the first time, the localization of PDRN within plant exosomes, opening new possibilities for administration and confirming that plant-derived PDRN is a sustainable, ethical, and effective cosmetic alternative.
