Fragrances define our personality, convey our way of understanding the world and have the power to awaken our senses, emotions, sensations, and memories. They are able to evoke experiences, people, or even places. They allow us to travel back in time, to our childhood and significant moments of our lives, to places and landscapes that exist only in our imagination.

The fragrance house Eurofragance reveals the trends and themes that will mark the new season and presents the olfactory notes that will be in trend in the second half of 2022.

Feminine fine perfumery

The new launches of feminine perfumes will be based on natural, sweet, fresh notes and extreme scents. All of them evoke feelings related to nature, happiness, nostalgia, comfort, and female empowerment. Perfumes with a clean smell also triumph.

Get energized with nature

Fragrances inspired by nature, in a forest, jungle, flower... or with green and natural notes are highly demanded, a clear reflection of the growing concern for the environment and to return to the essentials and reconnect with nature. Tea-inspired fragrances are making a comeback, awakening and reviving the senses, due to the trend of relaxing perfumes that calm the body and improve well-being. Although they also return for the escapism that consumers continue to seek after the pandemic.

On the other hand, the rose continues its reign as a star ingredient. This season we find a darker, spicy and at the same time, woody rose that demonstrates a penetrating and intoxicating scent influenced by the Gulf region.

The importance of the happiness

The trend of escapism, travel, and new adventures in summer is also reaching perfumery, which is moving towards a healthier approach in terms of ingredients. These are added with a more juicy and natural touch in floral fragrances with fruity notes. The fruits that reign are melon, pear, red fruits like the raspberry and, also yellow ones like the peach or the apricot. The inspiration comes from coconut and lactonic notes that evoke solar notes

The nostalgia of the infancy

Orange blossom continues to be very popular in multiple releases. And it is that this ingredient is recognized for its ability to calm anxiety. Its scent can awaken memories that are instantly comforting. Mellow notes with their enveloping and solar nuances are mixed this season with tobacco notes thus offering sensuality. Likewise, fragrances with sweet notes reminiscent of a bubblegum accord and that modernize the gourmand olfactory family add nostalgia. Ingredients such as strawberry, pear, raspberry, sweet vanilla, and coconut stand out. Vanilla is also included in this trend. This ingredient is almost maternal thanks to its comforting warmth and enhances the fragrances of the Middle East mixed with sandalwood, almond, and tonka bean.

The sensuality and the comfort

Consumers are looking for fragrances that provide a feeling of well-being. With fresh aldehydic notes, they are perfumes that smell clean. They brim with comfort, a long-awaited sensation, especially after the pandemic.

Fragrances that envelop you with their sensuality are also in vogue. This new season, perfumes that include leather notes contrast with classic florals such as rose or powdery notes such as orris or violet.

The empowerment of women

The scents also accompany the generation of daring and passionate women who champion their femininity. White flowers such as jasmine, tuberose, orange blossom, and gardenia are the protagonists, although so are ingredients that were previously used more in masculine fragrances such as the traditional fougère ingredient, lavender, woods, or vetiver.

The search for comfort and hedonistic pleasures drives more extreme and powerful scents. The infusion of spirits such as aged rum, amber cognac, and absinthe or brandy reveals fruity and spicy notes. They are fragrances with more spicy, smoky, gourmand scents and with a bitter sensation.

Masculine fine perfumery

This season, the new launches of men's fragrances are marked by fresh and soft notes, but also by virile and dynamic notes, as well as clean and captivating scents inspired by hygiene and clothing care.

Breathe to the rhythm of the nature

Natural is in fashion. Vegetable ingredients and green notes evoke the smell of wet grass or the feeling of freshness after a summer storm. They are perfumes with revitalizing notes that take us to the heart of an authentic green landscape, and that relax our minds. The power of spices is also important. The magnificence of this season's spicy fragrances brings us closer to nature, inspiring us with freshness, optimism, and renewed confidence. Inspired by the freshness of nature, they are fragrances that offer green notes that are soft or radical and assertive, with fruity and floral nuances.

Masculinity with nuances

Environmental concern and the growing importance of awareness of well-being and health care as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic also mark the perfumery industry's agenda. Clean and neutral scents are now in the foreground. More typical of clothes care, the fragrances are enhanced with notes of fresh linen and cotton, which evoke the smell of fresh, clean sheets or freshly washed clothes. Fresh, light fragrances that smell of comfort stand out with watery, aldehydic, green and marine, and ozonic notes.

Beyond the irruption of hygiene, fine perfumery takes a decisive step toward the gourmand olfactory family, enveloping and captivating, which outlines a sensitive and self-confident man. They are fragrances that explore liquor nuances such as the strength of coffee with the addition of the sweetness of vanilla and caramel. The identity of man gains strength. Self-confidence shows security linked to attention to one's own appearance, warm and deep, high impact.

Authority and authenticity

Freshness has become the key to light and easy-to-wear fragrances, in which a masculine basic, lavender, with its characteristic scent and, at the same time, intense, virile, and dynamic notes, is still very present.

Traditional noble woods such as cedar, sandalwood, or oud also play an important role, which with unique and complex characteristics produce a sensual and vibrant scent that lingers on the skin. They stand out in the new launches and they do it excessively by diving into deep and elegant masculinity, incessantly luminous.

On the other hand, the leather fragrances, influenced by the Gulf region, imprint strength and durability with vetiver wood, black tea, mate, and tobacco, thus generating a penetrating sensuality.
