BASF expands its portfolio of advanced skin care ingredients with the launch of Lincare, a cosmetic active specifically developed for post-laser treatment skin care. The company presented the innovation at in-cosmetics Asia 2026, held from November 3 to 5 in Bangkok, in a context of growing convergence between cosmetics and professional aesthetic treatments.

Formulated from oligosaccharides from flaxseed husks, Lincare is designed to intervene in different phases of the skin recovery process. Its functions include calming the skin after the procedure, promoting epidermal recovery, fostering extracellular matrix remodeling, and strengthening the barrier function. The development responds to a growing market need: to offer cosmetic solutions that not only accompany recovery after an aesthetic procedure but also contribute to enhancing its visible results.

Clinical results in recovery and rejuvenation

According to clinical trials reported by BASF, a formulation with 1% Lincare accelerated skin barrier recovery by 21% after non-ablative fractional laser treatment, advancing recovery by approximately 1.2 days compared to placebo.

The study also observed improvements in skin barrier performance above pre-treatment levels, with a benefit of up to double compared to placebo after 14 days.

Regarding visible signs of aging, clinical evaluations recorded a 1.8 times greater improvement in the appearance of fine lines on the forehead, 1.5 times in crow's feet, and 1.4 times in nasolabial folds compared to the control group.

Additionally, participants who used Lincare achieved up to 16% more skin density after 56 days, while laser treatment alone did not produce a measurable improvement in this parameter during the same period.

The convergence between aesthetics and cosmetics

The launch reflects one of the development opportunities in the beauty industry: the creation of specialized products to accompany aesthetic procedures and prolong their visible benefits.

The growing popularity of professional treatments is driving the demand for home care solutions that address specific skin needs, especially in the phases following interventions that require recovery.
