Cosme Bank Project: smiles for women and the Earth

This project that was born in 2021 in Japan aims to allow groups at risk of social exclusion to enjoy the little great pleasure that cosmetics offers

In November of last year 2021 was the date on which the 'Cosme Bank Project' was launched. This initiative has the slogan "Smiles for women and the Earth" and the main objective of the organising body is to help women obtain and provide cosmetics. Many women cannot have access to cosmetics for various reasons, such as their economy, Sometimes, it makes them have to give up these types of products that help you take care of yourself.

But the truth is that while these women benefit, so does the Earth. Cosmetics that have become surplus for some companies are handed over to people who do need them, and as we say, free of charge.

From the Japan Cosmetic Center, that is, the Cosmetic Cluster of Japan, is added to the collaboration of this project for the great intention it pursues and is a very rewarding dimension for the cosmetics industry, which shows its most human and supportive side.

More than 30 Japanese manufacturers, who are members of the board of directors of the Steering Committee, participate and promote the project, in addition to supporting the donation of cosmetic gifts to families, especially in the group of single mothers, who suffer most from these economic adversities.

Any of the companies that form part of this managerial board, and that, therefore, have added to the purpose has been KAO, the company of chemical products and cosmetics with headquarters in Japan, announced his adhesion to the initiative the past month of May. Therefore, in spring decided to donate a lot of products: 'Spring-Summer Gifts for Mother’s Day', which were distributed during the month of April and contributed a total of 7,000 cosmetics and hair care products to 33,000 homes. Sisheido, Unilever Japan or Shiro, provide also its small grain of sand.

On such important dates as Christmas, from Cosme Bank Project worked to deliver the "Autumn-Winter Gifts" to women from approximately 30,000 households, with special emphasis on single mothers. As indicated in their press release, they received some 330,000 products from 38 companies involved in the production of cosmetics and basic necessities. These gifts will be able to reach their destination thanks to the cooperation of 200 establishments and 100 organizations hosting public institutions.

From the committee of JCC expect to increase the number of activities and initiatives that incluide in the context of Cosme Bank Project and follow offering of these small opportunities to the greater number of women.
