The new Center of Expertise at the Symrise site in Clichy near Paris, houses the first microbiology laboratory of the division dedicated to customer support for the EAME region as well as the first application laboratory for home care products. Symrise has invested €1.5 million in the laboratory facility for cosmetic ingredients and home care ingredients. The move strengthens the Holzminden-based Group’s position as a leading company in the development of cosmetic ingredients and innovative solutions for customers around the world.

The 300-square-meter site includes a lab for cosmetic applications. It will develop products, concepts and testing methods for actives & botanicals and the newly created category for home care ingredients. Additionally, the microbiology laboratory will focus on delivering modern solutions and technical support for the cosmetic industry. This strategic approach will allow Symrise to continue providing excellent service and support to its customers.

Timothy Kenny, President, Cosmetic Ingredients at Symrise, explained: “Our new Beauty & Home Care Center of Expertise forms another strong example of our commitment to better serving our customers. Our technical experts will focus on researching optimal ingredients to help customers bring products to market faster – in both cosmetics and home care. Expanding our capabilities to include a sophisticated facility will provide us with opportunities to bring more innovative ideas to life.”

The opening of the Beauty & Home Care Center of Expertise solidifies the presence of Symrise in Europe as well as the Symrise Clichy site. It boasts an expanded team of scientific and technical experts in microbiology, cosmetics, and home care.

The cutting-edge facility joins the existing global network of research centers including the recently expanded cosmetics application laboratory at the company headquarters in Holzminden. The laboratory in Germany is dedicated to the formulation of actives, botanicals, colors, functionals, product & skin protection, and UV filters.

“These investments reflect the continuous growth in Cosmetic Ingredients and the strong demand from the market to continue providing modern solutions and excellent service to customers in the region,” says Timothy Kenny.
