Safic-Alcan announced in a press release on 18 April that Safic-Alcan East Africa had opened a new subsidiary on the African continent. This new location is strategically located in Nairobi to better serve and be more efficient in the East African market, which includes Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. The new Kenya office will complement Safic-Alcan's existing regional hubs in South Africa and Egypt, enabling the company to better serve the needs of its growing customer base across the continent.

To spearhead and direct the company's efforts and future moves in the East African market, Safic-Alcan has appointed Philip Kamau as Development Director for East Africa.

"We are delighted to expand our presence in Africa, an increasingly important continent in the formulation industry. By investing in Africa, we serve a consumer market of 250 million people in East Africa, and we are confident that our new subsidiary in Kenya will help us better serve our customers and grow our business in the region." has declared in the press release of the company Yann Lissillour, CEO of Safic-Alcan.
