Givaudan registers sales increase in the first quarter

Givaudan has posted an increase in first quarter 2023 sales despite external challenges that have affected parts of the business

During the first quarter of 2023, Givaudan registered sales by 1.773 million frank Swiss. This figure represents an increase of 3,6% in comparable terms and a decrease of 0,4%. With this, the company has stood out in his press release, his fortress and his resiliencia that has been able to grow in spite of the external challenges, the company kept his operations and chain of supply to a high level.

In the Fragrances & Beauty business, sales increased 6.8% like-for-like and 3.3% in Swiss francs, driven by higher volumes in Fine Fragrances and new pricing actions in all business units. On the other hand, in Flavours & Wellness, sales increased 1.0% like-for-like compared to the same period last year and decreased 3.5% in Swiss francs, mainly impacted by lower sales in North America and Asia Pacific.

The company has confirmed that it has also implemented price increases in collaboration with its customers to compensate for increases in resource and supply costs. In terms of long-term goals, Givaudan aims to create products that contribute to a happier and healthier life by 2030 and to become climate positive by 2050. In other words, the Swiss multinational wants to create an environmental benefit by removing additional carbon dioxide from the atmosphere by 2050. Furthermore, in their commitment to society, the same document states that they want to be a leading employer in inclusion by 2025 and, in terms of sustainability, they aim to source all materials and services sustainably by 2030.

The company's strategy is "Committed to Growth, with Purpose", where it aims to achieve organic sales growth of 4-5% like-for-like and free cash flow of at least 12% on average over the five-year strategy cycle.
