As reported by 'Global Cosmetics News', France is stepping up its moves to clamp down on the presence of CBD in cosmetic products in the European Union.

France has initiated a process whereby, if successful, products containing CBD will have to carry a warning label in accordance with the CLP regulation. As some media specialised in the use of CBD report, France is proposing restrictions on the use of CBD, which they say is a "potentially toxic substance".

Currently, CBD is not covered by the EU cosmetics regulation, and the latest ruling by the European Commission is that the body will add it to the cosmetic ingredients database in 2021, after a ruling that CBD is not a narcotic.
