dsm-firmenich Inaugurates two plants of production in Castets. With this movement, the Dutch company bet for promoting the division of ingredients devoted to the perfumery. The first installation, as it details in Premium Beauty News, is a polyvalent unit for the production of ingredients to base of pine. The second, is totally new and devotes to the production of his ingredient Habanolide®.

"As well as helping us to provide additional production capacity for perfumery in Europe, these expansion projects further strengthen our strategic position and allow us to take advantage of the growth opportunities ahead. These two additional plants also contribute significantly to our sustainability ambitions by reducing the carbon footprint of our logistics operations in the region, while helping our customers meet their own sustainability targets," said Emmanuel Butstraen, President Perfumery & Beauty at dsm-firmenich.

The new multi-purpose facility is an additional production unit designed to ensure the supply of a variety of finished and intermediate products for the perfumery markets. It increases the production capacity of bio-based renewable ingredients from the site's pine trees.

The bio-based ingredients plant has received a €2.8 million grant from the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region to boost industrial performance and business energy efficiency. The Habanolide® expansion project has benefited from a €1.0 million grant under the national recovery plan launched by the French government and the Nouvelle Aquitaine region to accelerate industrial investments in France.
