Beiersdorf has officially opened its site in the German city of Leizpig. The 130-year-old German company has inaugurated its new site in a strategic location in the company's history.

The company expects to produce up to 450 million cosmetic products per year from this new plant, especially those dedicated to personal care such as deodorants, hairsprays and shaving foams, which will be distributed throughout the European market and will also be destined for export in the different business areas.

Beiersdorf has made the largest investment in its history in this centre

The German company has invested almost 300 million euros in the inauguration of this new plant, making it the largest investment in Beiersdorf's history. This new manufacturing centre is equipped with a high degree of automation and extensive digitalisation of all production steps and guarantees efficiency and productivity. The factory is characterised by its modular and flexible design, which will enable the company to quickly implement the latest innovations and incorporate improvements in the various production processes.

The Beiersdorf factory in Leizpig meets the objectives of Beiersdorf's Care Beyond Skin sustainability programme, which promotes the use of renewable energies and biogas for heat generation. As a result, the German company has managed to operate almost CO2-neutrally and generates more electricity than it consumes thanks to photovoltaics.

The inauguration was attended by well-known personalities from the German political sphere such as the Prime Minister of Saxony, Michael Krestchmer, and the Mayor of the city of Leizpig, Bukhard Jung, to celebrate this milestone for the company with employees, owners, partners and other guests.

The Chairman of the Executive Board of Beiersdorf said that he is very proud of this new opening, which is a state-of-the-art production facility and meets the highest environmental standards.  The Prime Minister of Saxony also expressed his satisfaction and told the company that he is delighted with this news and that Beiersdorf has chosen this region to make its largest investment in history.
