Phergal Laboratorios continues to advance in its commitment to sustainability after offsetting 100% of its CO₂ emissions and obtaining, for the second consecutive year, the "Calculo y Compenso" (Calculate and Offset) seal, granted by the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITECO). This recognition consolidates the company's environmental roadmap and certifies its commitment to measuring and offsetting its carbon footprint.
Phergal Laboratorios has offset 393 tons of CO₂ through the project "Restoration of burned area through support for regeneration and reforestation", integrated into the Pure Earth Project – Grandas de Salime, in Asturias. An initiative that goes far beyond reforestation: it seeks to restore a landscape, recover biodiversity and contribute to climate change mitigation from an environmental, social and economic perspective.
The project is being developed in the municipality of Grandas de Salime, an enclave affected by two fires in 2017. There, since autumn 2021, work has been done on the restoration of some 135 hectares through the planting of nearly 165,000 native species trees. The intervention is expected to capture approximately 55,000 tons of CO₂ within 50 years, in addition to favoring the recovery of native forest, protecting the soil, improving biodiversity and preserving heritage elements of high cultural value.
To carry out the plantations, people from the area have been involved, with special attention to vulnerable groups, thus promoting local and inclusive employment and contributing to revitalizing the rural economic fabric. A commitment to sustainability understood not only as environmental care, but also as an opportunity to generate social impact.
This milestone is also part of the evolution of Phergal Laboratorios towards a business model increasingly committed to positive impact. The company, certified as a B Corp since 2025, is part of a global community of companies that meet high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency and responsibility. A way of understanding cosmetics in which innovation, efficacy and care coexist with responsibility towards people and the planet.
In that same vein is a sustained trajectory in corporate social responsibility. Since 2019, Phergal Laboratorios collaborates with Plant for the Planet, offsetting more than 1,500 tons of CO₂ through reforestation projects. In addition, since 2021 it supports Oceánidas and its Network of Marine Watchers, contributing to the conservation of seas, beaches and oceans by removing more than 28 tons of waste.
