The awards gala for the third edition of the Digital Beauty Awards was held on Thursday 6 July at La Pedrera in Barcelona.

The awards, promoted by the Beauty Cluster, received more than 400 entries in its second edition. An expert jury faced the arduous task of choosing the three best in each of the twenty-two categories. Yesterday, a total of 68 companies and professionals were awarded prizes for their tireless and innovative work in the beauty sector.

The awards are judged by a panel of experts in digitalisation, e-commerce and marketing and communication in the beauty sector. Making their debut as jury members in this edition are Elena Borrás, Chief Digital & Marketing Officer L'Oréal Luxe Spain + Portugal; Camila Tomas, Vice President Innovation & Technology at Puig. Board Member AirParfum; Marta Panera, Head of Marketing & Communications Iberia at Foreo. Member WomenInTech Spain; Gerardo Cañelllas, CEO at Perfume's Club. Specialist in multichannel trading of beauty products with a clear online focus; Marián García, Winner DBA 2022 for best professional communicator. PhD in Pharmacy. Scientific and health divulgation in networks, TV and Radio: @boticariagarcia and Alfonso Álvarez-Prieto, General Manager & Founder at Scentmate by Firmenich, among others.

The gala began at 19:00h in the evening, in an event presented by the General Manager of the Beauty Cluster and Director of the Digital Beauty Awards, Ivan Borrego, who, with the help of the different professionals in the sector, presented the awards to the winners. Ivan thanked the attendance and the talented and ambitious projects that were presented and encouraged the companies to continue innovating. He also gave an exclusive preview of the date of the next edition: 4 July 2024.

Once again, the organisation has decided to award three honorary prizes to professionals with extensive experience in promoting the sector through the media. On this occasion, the winners were journalist Rosa Girona, writer for media such as La Vanguardia and founder of Bellezasolidaria.net, Charo Moreno, director of Beautyprof magazine and María Fernández-Miranda, journalist and writer.

The 2023 edition of the DBAs has been one of growth in nominations but also in new categories derived from the industry's interest in the awards. Among others, the Digital Beauty Awards have opted in this 2023 to also reward the best online training initiatives in the cosmetics, perfumery and personal care industry. In the "Best Instagrammer" and "Best Beauty Tiktoker" categories, the voting system to choose the winners once again took into account the public's vote, together with the vote of the jury and the industry.

The awards were more widely distributed than ever, with more than 50 different winners for the 68 awards presented. The winners included Perfume's Club, which won the top prize in the categories of best e-commerce and best launch of a new Marketplace, as well as the award for best digital executive in the sector, which went to its CEO - Gerardo Cañellas. Some of the usual winners from previous editions, such as Puig (Airparfum), Bella Aurora, Scentmate by DSM-Firmenich and Lush, also stood out once again. Companies such as Sephora, Impress, Merck, Mesoestetic and Germaine de Capuccini won Digital Beauty Awards for the first time in this edition.

In the field of dissemination and social networks, Arturo Álvarez was awarded the prize for best disseminator in the sector. Álvaro Platón won the award for best tiktoker, Andrés Croxatto (Perfume-Man) for best youtuber and Helena Rodero for best instagrammer. In this edition, more than 100 popularisers and influencers entered the DBAs, representing 80% of the most relevant Spanish-speaking cosmetics, perfumery and personal care companies in the world.

In addition, this year the Beauty Cluster organised the second edition of the Digital Beauty Summit, a forum for knowledge, experiences and innovation exclusively on e-commerce and digital transformation in the Spanish beauty industry, on the same day as the awards ceremony. It has had 300 attendees and top-level experts and environments to discuss, share and connect with other professionals on technological and digital innovation, new solutions and their application to online commerce, evolution and perspective of communication in social networks, success stories of the sector and many other topics of innovation and digital trends that will impact the beauty industry in the coming years.
