Cosmetics Europe launches COSMILE Europe App. The European trade association for the cosmetics and personal care sector has launched the app, which is a European ingredient database that provides access to reliable, verified and scientifically backed information on almost 30,000 ingredients used in cosmetics.

John Chave, Managing Director of Cosmetics Europe explained in a press release issued by the organisation that it is a tool that makes all kinds of information related to cosmetic ingredients more easily accessible: "COSMILE Europe app is a new way to track ingredients and access information in the easiest way. We hope this tool will help European citizens to choose their cosmetic products".

The tool is available in 8 different languages (Spanish, English, French, Hungarian, Dutch, Polish, Romanian and German) and the user can obtain this information by scanning the product label or manually searching for the ingredient information.

Users of the COSMILE Europe app will be able to track the ingredients of cosmetic products they are interested in or to which they have a dermatologist-confirmed allergy. To further customise the application, users will be able to create a list of favourite products from the cosmetics they have scanned to consult the ingredients of the products at any time.
