Croda International Plc has presented new data on Crodabond™ CSN, a 100% natural and biodegradable ingredient that opens new possibilities in the development of high-performance sunscreens.

Initially known for its efficacy in hair care, where it helps seal the cuticle and repair split ends, this emollient now extends its application to skin care. Studies show that it can improve SPF and UVA protection by optimizing film formation and the distribution of UV filters on the skin. This allows to achieve more uniform and effective protection, while also maintaining excellent sensoriality.

This technology not only improves performance, but also offers economic and environmental advantages. By enhancing the effectiveness of UV filters, it allows for a reduction in their concentration in formulations, which can decrease the carbon footprint, especially in inorganic filters, by up to 13.5%.

At Croda, we believe that true innovation goes beyond efficacy: it builds trust,” says Hannah Critchley, Skin Care Marketing Manager at Croda Beauty. “Our latest data supports the development of sunscreens with consistent and proven protection, in a context where consumers demand science-backed products.”

Given a growing awareness about the risks of sun exposure and the demand for effective and sustainable products, Crodabond™ CSN positions itself as a strategic solution to create reliable, innovative, and environmentally friendly sun formulations.
