Stella McCartney to recycle excess textile fibres from nylon and polyester

Once again, Stella McCartney demonstrates her commitment to sustainability by joining Protein Evolution

Before finish 2022, the British designer Stella McCartney wanted to demonstrate once again its firm commitment to sustainable fashion production. This time, as they have published skilled media fashion as 'Fashion United', 'Fashion Network' and 'Vogue' explained the last news of the signature Stella McCarney: the formalisation of the agreement with 'Protein Evolution'.

'Protein Evolution' Is a startup American that centres his activity in the innovation in matter of processes of biological recycling. Some of his projects stood out is a design of able enzymes to decompose undone plastic and textile, for later, manufacture and create new textile products and plastics.

The agreement did official in the last days of 2022, but went in force in 2023, by what already are working together. In a communiqué made by 'Protein Evolution', the cofounder and technological director of the company Scott Stankey, has declared that it treats of a collaboration and a synergy that expect that it was fruitful for both parts: "Our process of biological recycling patented saves the potential to be able to enable the efforts in circularized along all the textile industry. When associating us with Stella McCartney, can begin to tester ours platform in some real surroundings and collectively learn how to integrate without problems the technology of PEI in the current processes of manufacture. This collaboration will show for the first time how the complex types of cloths, like the mixes of nylon and polyester, can reutilize completely to manufacture new materials of plastic base of a profitable way and with low consumptions of energy."

Stella McCartney, by his part, has not wanted to overlook this occasion to show his unrest with regard to the increase of marks of 'fast-fashion' and the impact that this generates: "The horrible quantity of pieces of 'fast fashion' that afterwards finishes in the dumps is really shocking , so much by the resources used as by the big quantity of waste."
