The call for entries for the ninth edition of the Rec.0 festival is now open. 080 Barcelona Fashion and the Rec.0 festival have announced a new edition of the competition, which is open to emerging designers, designers and fashion brands, to find the four best proposals for local and sustainable fashion. Brands and designers who want to participate can submit their candidacy until 27 September.
Yet another edition that does not lose sight of its essence and its objective, which is none other than to promote creative talent within a framework of sustainability. Therefore, criteria such as care for the environment and circularity, local production, responsibility in the social, economic and territorial environment, gender perspective, size diversity and the marketing potential of their products will be taken into account.
The specialised jury in charge of choosing the four winning proposals is made up of Laia Beltran Querol, a journalist specialising in fashion; Gemma Barbany Arimany, co-founder of the sustainable brand Iaios; the stylists Fermín+Gilles; Marcel-lí Pérez Calveras, textile engineer and professor at ESDI; Marta Coca Ortiga, director of 080 Barcelona Fashion; and Marina Iglesias Valls, co-founder of Recstores.
The award consists of a marketing and promotional space in the 080 Barcelona Fashion space for sustainable fashion at REC.0, a festival to be held from 8 to 11 November 2023.
The four winning projects will be announced on 5 October, when the prizes will also be awarded.
