The Consumers and Users Organisation has today denounced Miravia, the marketplace that landed last 2022 in Spain for lack of clarity in some of its products, including cosmetics and beauty items.

The non-profit organisation has decided to prosecute the marketplace owned by the Asian giant Alibaba with the aim that the Spanish authorities check the regulatory breach and impose the sanctions established in the rules to eradicate this malpractice.

The OCU points out that the sale price and the price per unit of measurement are not indicated legally or correctly. In addition to cosmetic products, such as face creams, this is also the case with food and cleaning products.

Miravia arrived in Spain in November 2022 to seek to be the alternative to Amazon with the aim of reaching 10,000 operators. It began operating in seven categories until it reached a dozen: women's fashion, men's fashion, beauty, health, home and garden, electronics, supermarket, sports fashion, children's fashion, toys, luggage and pets. The marketplace was a firm commitment on the part of Alibaba, which landed in Spain with the presence of the main brands and aims to establish itself among the top 5 marketplaces before 2026.
