The Barcelona Perfumery Congress celebrates its fifth edition at La Farga de l'Hospitalet and consolidates its position as a benchmark event in the perfume and fragrance sector. With almost a thousand attendees and a total of forty exhibitors, the BPC invites attendees to attend the sixth edition to be held on 18 and 19 June 2025.
On this occasion, almost fifty presentations were given over two days, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The event took place over two almost uninterrupted days. Two almost uninterrupted days full of knowledge and dissemination which included the entire value chain of the world of perfumery, from olfaction, without losing sight of the tastes and preferences of the consumer and glimpsing the next trends. These presentations were held synchronously in a hall and an auditorium: the Industry Talks and the Keynote Sessions, which managed to reach maximum capacity in many of the talks.
The institutional welcome that opened the first day and the congress was in charge of the president of the Beauty Cluster, Marc Crous, who received together with the Manager of the Beauty Cluster, Ivan Borrego, the Secretary of Business and Competitiveness of the Generalitat de Catalunya, Mr. Albert Castellanos. In this welcome also participated the Development Director of the Foundation of the Perfume Academy, Cristina de Catalina. Both took advantage of the start of the event to highlight the importance of this type of fairs and the impulse that the fragrance and perfumery sector generates in the business fabric.
During the two days, different workshops also took place, such as Scentmate, which invited you to experience a sensory journey through fragrances and connect with experiences and memories, and Mane, which offered an olfactory journey to transport you to India. In the 'exhibition area', attendees could enjoy and learn about the creative universe of master perfumer Rosendo Mateu as a tribute and recognition of his career dedicated to perfumery.
In the same enclosure, there was a corridor devoted to discover the typical smells of the Indian, that has been the country homenajeado in this fifth edition of the Barcelona Perfumery Congress. This recognition is due to that the Indian is a country known by his rich culture in matter of the perfumery and his rooting with the world of the scents and natural resources to create them. With AirParfum, the more than thousand of assistants to the event could discover to what smell the most emblematic places of the city of Barcelona and also could enjoy of the work exposed previously in the Museum del Prado: "The essence of a picture. An olfactory exhibition". Like special activity, the professionals of the industry could inscribe to a game given by Master Parfums, 'The Perfume World Tour'.
As part of the fifth edition of the Barcelona Perfumery Congress, the winners of the Barcelona Perfumery Awards were presented with their prizes. The awards recognise the innovation, knowledge, disruption and commitment to sustainability of companies dedicated to the fragrance and perfumery sector. The awards were distributed to 10 categories and these awards were attended by authorities of the City Council of L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, as Nuria Marín, the mayoress of Hospitalet de Llobregat and other personalities such as the Tinent d'Alcaldia de Promoció Econòmica, José Antonio Alcaide, of the Primer Tinent d'Alcaldia de L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, Francesc J. Belver, Montse Pérez and the Cap de Gabinet d'Alcaldia de L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, Susana Abellán.
