The Perfume Academy announces the "top perfumes" of its XVII Edition of annual awards, after the votes of the Jury of the Press during the days of 25 and 26 April. The jury is made up of a large and varied group of specialised journalists from the main Spanish print, digital and audiovisual media. This edition has broken a record of participation with sixty journalists.
This jury is responsible for choosing the "top" perfumes that make it to the final podium. It was up to them to carefully evaluate 79 of the 178 proposals that started from the starting line and passed through the evaluation of Jury of the Distribution and by the on-line vote, with the participation of more than 700 professionals and fans of the perfume.
The Press Jury analyses each fragrance exhaustively following a criteria with different factors, such as scent, overall coherence and innovation. A special area has been set up for the "Home Perfume" category of scented candles and mikados.
The commitment of perfumery to sustainability in different fields of action and innovative proposals that have surprised the jury, especially highlighting "women's perfumes" have been the keynote of this 17th edition of the awards.
The Perfume Academy Awards, already known as the "Oscars of Perfume", seek, in addition to recognising the best creations, to enrich the culture of perfume in society, disseminating the art of each creation: its raw materials, the talent of the perfumers who create different olfactory illusions with their formulas, as well as that of other areas that complete the whole and the coherence of each perfume, with elements such as design and evocative communication campaigns.
The professionals in attendance particularly highlighted the work being done by the Perfume Academy, beyond the awards, with its creation of content, the wealth of material on its portal, the webinars, perfume pills and the power of the group of Perfume Academics, recently expanded with new appointments.
