The Symrise group has officially inaugurated a new production plant for Lautier 1795, its brand specializing in natural fragrance ingredients, located in the emblematic region of Grasse. This strategic investment expands the firm's operational capacity in the south of France, complementing the superior quality capabilities previously acquired through Floral Concept.
With this opening, Symrise unites the historical tradition of a house founded in 1795 with modern transformation and processing technologies, under its corporate model "ONE Symrise", which connects specialized local knowledge with the group's global network of clients, innovation, and perfumery.
Key points of the expansion
-
Integration of the Grasse ecosystem: The new plant combines responsible sourcing, raw material transformation, and local production with Symrise's global R&D infrastructure.
-
Synergy with Floral Concept: Together with Floral Concept, Lautier 1795 expands access to the technical expertise of local growers and extractors in Provence.
-
Traceability and technology: The facility incorporates advanced processing technologies that ensure high consistency, traceability of raw materials, and more agile development of new ingredients.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Symrise CEO, Dr. Jean-Yves Parisot, and the Mayor of Grasse, Jérôme Viaud. The company's executives highlighted the relevance of the project:
"Since the acquisition of Diana in 2014, Symrise has developed a strong natural ingredients business for food. Today, with our expanded presence in Grasse through Lautier 1795 and Floral Concept, we unite complementary capabilities in perfumery to generate new opportunities in natural ingredients."
Michael Friede, President of the Scent & Care segment at Symrise. For her part, Camille Quintin, Symrise Supply Chain Director, emphasized the importance of the location:
"Grasse brings deep roots and new momentum to Lautier 1795. We combine generations of natural raw material know-how with modern technology and close alliances with local farmers to reveal new olfactory facets to perfumers worldwide."
The new plant shortens the time between the harvesting of the botanical ingredient and the creation of the final fragrance. For perfumers and global brands, the center will offer a wider range of high-purity extracts, greater reliability in the supply chain, and solutions adapted to the growing demands for sustainability in the luxury and cosmetics sector.
