Beauty packaging manufacturer and provider Quadpack has invested in new equipment to produce PET lip gloss bottles at its flagship manufacturing facility in Kierspe, Germany. The move leverages its expertise in thick-wall PET injection moulding  by expanding the product mix to colour cosmetics. The plant now manufactures and decorates jars, bottles and airless packs for both skin care and makeup, mainly for the European market. As such, Quadpack will be able to shorten lead times and reduce carbon footprint of one of its most important product categories.

Pierre-Antoine Henry, Senior Director of Marketing, Innovation & Strategic Development, explains: "There is a market gap in dip-in packaging compatible with high alkane content formulas, in particular, 6 ml lip glosses made entirely of PET. We can now meet demand in the region for most of our customers while underscoring our color cosmetics credentials."

The new equipment is dedicated to the production of lip gloss bottles for its monomaterial dip-in packaging, made of PET and with high PCR content options.

Quadpack's dip-in packaging solutions are a great example of its hybrid model of co-creation and co-manufacturing with global strategic partners: locally manufactured bottles that are complemented by a patented range of high-tech applicators. Henry says: "This is an important step bridging the gao between Asian technology, cost and know.how with European manufacturing expertise".
