Following the great success of the first two editions, Provital presents the 3rd edition of ‘The Rising Stars Challenge’. As in previous editions, the competition is exclusively open to cosmetic formulation students of any academic level, anywhere in the world.
The Rising Stars Challenge celebrates creativity, knowledge, and originality in the cosmetic sector, with a focus on caring for people and the planet. Through Provital's 'Do Care' philosophy, international cosmetic students are supported, giving them the opportunity to grow and make a real impact in this industry.
As in previous editions, students must create a formula that includes the Provital ingredient assigned to them. Creativity, originality, and cosmetic knowledge will again be the key criteria the jury will use to evaluate each proposal. This year's jury is composed of experienced professionals from different areas of the industry, experts committed to guiding and inspiring the next generation of formulators.
Just like last year, the competition will be divided into two phases:
Phase 1: Project submission
All students must submit their formula according to the following instructions:
- The formula must contain at least 90% naturally derived ingredients.
- The packaging is completely free, although sustainable proposals will be positively valued.
- The product format is also at the candidate's discretion, with minimalist formulations being positively valued.
The jury will first evaluate the proposals and select a finalist for each of the 11 product subcategories of CareActives and CareMotives. The formulations of these 11 finalists will be included in Rising Stars materials and on Provital's social media. The same jury will then choose the overall 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners from these 11 finalists, regardless of the subcategory to which they belong.
Phase 2: Formula Creation
The 11 finalists will have the opportunity to further develop their formulas, allowing the jury to evaluate additional parameters such as stability, texture, and color, among others, before selecting the overall winner of this stage of the competition
The official language of the contest is English and registration is completely free. The 3 winners of the first phase and the winner of the second phase will receive a diploma, a cash prize, and a gift from Misceo.
Registration will open on January 12, 2026 and will remain open until June 22, 2026.
