On February 18 and 19, Barcelona will host Making Pharma Spain 2026, an event designed to offer a current overview of the pharmaceutical industry and bring together solutions for development, manufacturing, quality control, formulation, packaging, and specialized services. The content is complemented by a technical program developed in conjunction with leading associations and entities in the sector.
The event is born with a practical orientation, designed for professionals seeking to update their knowledge, identify suppliers, and better understand the challenges that mark the sector's agenda today. This first edition articulates that proposal through a broad scientific program, a specialized exhibition area, and a TechFocus space centered on agile technical solutions.
Scientific Program: a joint vision with the sector's reference entities
The Making Pharma Spain 2026 Scientific Program will take place over two days and has been developed in conjunction with associations, clusters, and specialized entities representing different areas of the pharmaceutical industry. The result is a balanced agenda that combines regulation, quality, biomanufacturing, intellectual property, and applied innovation.
February 18
The day will open with a session by Net-Pharma Hub dedicated to the collaborative economy and how cooperation models between companies, institutions, and technology hubs are accelerating innovation. This will be followed by a presentation by ASEBIO focused on the challenges of technological transfer in recombinant protein biomanufacturing, with a practical focus on scaling, efficiency, and GMP compliance.
AEFI will address the update of Part IV of the GMP and its impact on the manufacturing of advanced therapies, highlighting the role of automation and artificial intelligence in highly specialized processes. Next, Catalonia.Health will lead a round table on intellectual property management strategies, key to sustaining competitiveness and anticipating scenarios such as patent cliffs.
The day will also include a panel by the Beauty Cluster on scientific and regulatory convergence between the cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries, especially in the formulation of dermocosmetics that combine technical rigor and credibility in claims.
February 19
ACESABIO will open the second day with a panel focused on the strategic role of clusters in the transformation of the pharmaceutical sector, analyzing how these platforms drive collaborative projects, digitalization, and new R&D&I models.
ANEFP will present a session dedicated to the regulatory environment in Consumer Health, addressing the current challenges in the self-care sector. EXCiPACT & IPEC will offer a technical session on the certification of excipients and their usefulness in supplier qualification and GMP application.
The ALBA Synchrotron will close the scientific block with a presentation on the use of synchrotron light in drug discovery and development, showcasing advanced techniques for structural analysis, efficacy evaluation, and formulation characterization
A proposal that combines regulation, quality, and innovation with a practical approach aligned with the sector's needs
TechFocus Program: Agile and Specialized Technical Solutions
The TechFocus space will be one of the main attractions of Making Pharma Spain 2026. Over two days, more than 25 technical presentations will be held by exhibiting companies, in a dynamic format focused on applicable solutions.
The sessions will cover topics such as process optimization, GMP solutions, technologies with industrial impact, advanced materials, stable formulations, contamination control, dispersion improvement, bioavailability, particle design, and new applications for medical devices.
The content is aimed at technical professionals seeking to innovate, adapt to new regulatory requirements, and discover technologies with direct application. All this, in collaboration with leading companies in technical development and innovation.
TechFocus represents an opportunity to compare approaches, discover new proposals, and establish direct contact with the experts responsible for these developments.
Exhibition Area: A Complete View of the Value Chain
The exhibition area brings together companies specializing in pharmaceutical ingredients, machinery and equipment, specialized services, and packaging solutions. An offering that covers the key needs in development, manufacturing, quality control, and supply in the pharmaceutical industry.
