The third edition of Innocosmética, the annual meeting of the cosmetic, perfumery and personal care sector in the Mediterranean, will be held on May 29. Promoted by AINIA and the Science Park of the Miguel Hernández University (PCUMH), it will bring together researchers, institutional representatives and business leaders from the sector with the aim of discovering, debating and connecting around technological and scientific innovation.

Digital innovation applied to cosmetic product and process

The day will begin with a first thematic block focused on the use of artificial intelligence (AI) to develop more effective and personalized cosmetic formulas. This block will feature Pere Adell, president of KosmetikOn, who will explain the use of AI in the formulation of perfumes, and Montse Delor, director of Symrise in Spain and Portugal, who will address its application in efficacy tests. The block will be introduced by Enrique Barrajón, research and transfer coordinator of the Institute for Research, Development and Innovation in Health Biotechnology of Elche (IDiBE).

The second panel will focus on the application of AI in processes and automation. Fernando Castell, commercial manager of Instalaciones Industriales GRAU, will open the block, followed by presentations by Lorenzo Cervera, R&D engineer at AINIA, and Germán Castillo, CEO and co-founder of KEMCHAIN.

Well-aging and microbiome: skin health from a comprehensive perspective

The third panel will focus on skin longevity, well-aging and the microbiome. It will include presentations by Marc Güell (Universitat Pompeu Fabra-UPF), on the cutaneous microbiome; Javier Morán (Catholic University of Murcia-UCAM), on nutricosmetics, Alex Mira (FISABIO) on the oral microbiome, and José Mª Lagarón (Spanish National Research Council) on new ingredients for well-aging.

In addition, there will be a round table on the challenges of innovation. This table will be moderated by Bioval, with the participation of Antonio Ferrer, director of IDiBE and promoter of the spin-off Prospera Biotech of the PCUMH; Ana Gonzálvez, global technical director of Germaine de Capuccini; Luisa Haya, technical director of ingredients at Cantabria Labs; and José Velo, technical director at Laboratorios Ximart.
