The 'Green Beauty Congress' (GBC) celebrates a new edition and returns to face-to-face format. After two years in online format, due to the restrictions imposed by the pandemic, the GBC organised by the Beauty Cluster and Mentactiva will be held again 'face-to-face' in the framework of Expoquimia, at the Fira Barcelona Gran VÍa, on 30 May in the morning.

This new conference serves to share and exchange information and debate on the strategy and marketing of a natural product, its regulation, formulation and state of the market. The four axes of this fifth edition are: innovation, regulation, trends and packaging. All from the point of view of cosmetic science. In this way, this congress vindicates the values that accompany the cosmetics industry: science and innovation.

As the event's organisers, Carmen Sánchez from Mentactiva and Helena Rodríguez from Beauty Cluster, explain, this year's GBC features top-level speakers. The programme is made up of great eminences of the industry and also of young talents who are making their way with great ideas and purposes to bring another perspective to the sector. They will learn about the latest developments in regulatory changes, how companies communicate 'green beauty' and the verification processes that certify that a cosmetic product is organic and natural, among other relevant issues.

This forum, which addresses the world of natural cosmetics with a 360-degree vision, offers attendees the chance to take part in a formulation workshop, thanks to the collaboration of Provital and IKA, which is subject to prior booking. In this workshop, attendees will create a rejuvenating serum containing 2% of Altheostem™, Provital's new active ingredient. In addition, another new feature of this event, dedicated exclusively to natural cosmetics, is a 'sensory bar'. In this space, those attending the event will be able to experiment with textures and the latest novelties on the market from HAAN Ready, ILOS Natural Luxury Cosmetics, Quinque, Rulls or Saigu Cosmetics, among others.

The event, aimed at industry professionals, formulation students and the media, is also closely linked to sustainability, a demand that is increasingly growing among consumers of cosmetic products. For this reason, the GBC also serves as a way to claim sustainability as a global concept, which must be extended throughout the entire value chain.

Last year, coinciding with World Oceans Day, the organisation created a micro-financing campaign in collaboration with the communication agency Imago and Provital to raise funds for The Ocean Clean Up Foundation to clean up the seabed. This year, they are committed to reusing all the additional elements used in the celebration of the day, such as some decorative components that are usually discarded at the end of the event.

This fifth edition has the support of several companies in the sector, mainly dedicated to the development, manufacture or distribution of raw materials for cosmetics and perfumery, such as ADP Cosmetics, Aitex, Biogründl, CAAE, Inquiaroma, Special Chemicals and Unigolden.
