The French firm Avril Cosmétique has chosen the commercial hub of Gran de Gràcia to debut in Barcelona. The brand will open a 120-square-meter store at number 106 of this street in early 2027, which will be its flagship store in the city. The operation was advised by the real estate consultancy Laborde Marcet.
According to FashionNetwork, it will be the company's third own store in Spain, after those in Madrid and Bilbao. The first opened in late 2024 at number 21 of Conde de Peñalver street, in the Salamanca neighborhood. With the Barcelona store, Avril will have three independent establishments in the country.
Clara Matías, Retail & High Street Director at Laborde Marcet, pointed out that the opening confirms Barcelona's attractiveness for international brands and the importance of the physical store to bring the product closer, advise, and strengthen the relationship with the customer. She added that a store of this size reflects the brand's desire to have a significant presence in the city and to showcase its entire universe in its own space.
Avril was founded in 2012 by Alexis Dhellemmes with the idea of democratizing organic cosmetics. It started as an online store and opened its first physical location in Lille in 2016. Its proposal is based on certified organic products (Ecocert and Bureau Veritas) at affordable prices, with an offer that includes facial, body, and hair care, makeup, a line for men and babies, and dissolvable tablets to reduce environmental impact. Today it has more than 70 stores in France, Belgium, Spain, and Morocco.
When it arrived in Spain, the company announced the goal of opening 25 stores between Spain and Portugal in five years.
