The reference event for professionals in the cosmetic industry celebrates its tenth edition with a historic milestone: the largest Cosmetorium to date, both in exhibition space and in number of participants. On October 21 and 22, 2026, La Farga de L'Hospitalet in Barcelona will host a special anniversary edition that reaffirms the event's leadership as the premier reference forum for the formulation, manufacturing, and distribution of cosmetic products in our country.
A tenth anniversary with record figures
Cosmetorium 2026 will feature more than 7,000 m² of exhibition space and already has confirmed participation from 174 companies. These figures consolidate this edition as the most ambitious in the event's ten-year history, ratifying the sector's confidence in a forum that, year after year, has become the essential meeting point for the Spanish cosmetic community.
“Ten editions are not improvised. Behind it is a sector that has believed in this project from the beginning and that, year after year, has made Cosmetorium something bigger. That is what we celebrate, and this edition will undoubtedly be the most special.”, explains José Zaragozano from Step Exhibitions, organizers of the exhibition.
Prominence for new proposals in the sector
The training program of Cosmetorium 2026 takes on special prominence in this anniversary edition, with an offer designed for all professional profiles. The event will feature 30 Innovatorium spaces where the most cutting-edge companies will present their latest proposals and innovative ingredients, becoming one of the most inspiring spaces that best reflect the trends that will mark the cosmetic market.
In addition, 4 conference rooms will be set up to host a total of 47 TechFocus sessions focused on ingredients, advanced formulation, and new technologies in the sector, along with 15 practical Workshop sessions that will allow attendees to delve into the latest trends through interactive and applied formats.
High-level scientific program
The scientific program, organized by the Scientific Committee of the Spanish Society of Cosmetic Chemists, will have a special role in this anniversary edition. Two internationally renowned keynote speakers will open the scientific debate:
Dr. Luís F. Santamaría-Babi, Professor of Translational Immunology at the University of Barcelona, whose activity focuses on biomedical research of the immune response in chronic inflammatory diseases. At Cosmetorium 2026, he will address the role of immunology in understanding and treating atopic dermatitis.
Dr. Alfonso Valencia, ICREA Professor and Director of the Life Sciences Department at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC-CNS), specializing in Computational Biology and its application to medical problems. His presentation, titled "Digital Twins and AI Agents in Biomedicine," will explore the transformative potential of artificial intelligence in the health sector.
Beyond the keynotes, the program will address some of the major themes shaping the present and future of the sector: aging from a scientific perspective, with special attention to circadian rhythms and the role of telomeres, sustainability and packaging circularity within the European regulatory framework, the emergence of artificial intelligence, and global beauty trends for 2027. It will be complemented by sessions dedicated to inclusive packaging, the safety assessment of cosmetic products, and new developments in ingredient regulation.
Cosmetorium Awards: The Anniversary Formula
Cosmetorium 2026 will host the tenth edition of the Cosmetorium Awards, whose theme this year pays homage to the event's history under the slogan "Party 10, the Anniversary Formula: 10 years, 10 ingredients, a sensory celebration." A proposal that invites formulators to celebrate a decade of creativity and innovation with a demanding challenge.
The theme poses a minimalist formulation challenge: to create products that evoke the spirit of celebration (joy, surprise, energy, glamour...) limiting the INCI declaration to a maximum of 10 ingredients. The goal is to demonstrate that less can be more. An exercise that tests the talent, technical knowledge, and ability to surprise of the best formulators in the sector.
Cosmetorium 2026 once again consolidates its position as a key meeting point for the cosmetic industry in Spain, combining technical content, innovation, and networking opportunities.
