Bella Aurora laboratories reaffirm one more year their commitment to making visible female talent in science on the occasion of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, which is celebrated on February 11

The figures reflect a worrying reality: according to 2025 data from UNESCO, only 22% of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) jobs in the G20 are held by women. A gap that limits talent and hinders innovation in key sectors for the future

For this reason, since 2019 Bella Aurora has developed continuous initiatives to make women visible in the scientific sector and to foster research vocations among girls and young women. "Our commitment to making women visible in science is not a one-off, it is a responsibility that we assume on an ongoing basis," states Anna Farré, Deputy Chief R&D Officer of Bella Aurora. "Each year we look for new ways to bring scientific reality closer to young women who are considering their professional future”.

From inspiration to action: the laboratory opens its doors

Every February 11, the brand organizes talks in educational centers or its own facilities, in which the team from its laboratory, composed of 90% women, shares real experiences about a scientific career in the cosmetic industry, serving as inspiration for future generations.

This year, Bella Aurora has invited a group of students from the Chemical Institute of Sarrià (IQS) in Barcelona to an immersive day in its laboratory. During the visit, the students have learned firsthand about the complete process of creating a cosmetic treatment: from tests with cell cultures to the formulation and analysis of pioneering treatments in skin pigmentation. "For leading companies in the scientific sector to promote these types of initiatives among students is fundamental when it comes to inspiring and guiding their future professional careers," highlights Núria Oliva, Professor and Head of the IQS Research GroupIn addition to this in-person visit, Bella Aurora amplifies the message of 11F through special content on its main communication channels, thus contributing to giving visibility to a key day for the recognition of women and science
