Beauty Cluster and AEIC organize a second edition Spain Cosmetics Ingredients Regulatory Summit. One year after its first edition, both associations will gather in Barcelona the main national associations of the cosmetic sector to address topics of common interest. The congress on May 21st becomes a unique opportunity to learn first-hand about the most recent regulatory updates affecting the entire value chain of the cosmetic sector.

The demanding European regulatory environment, a global benchmark, also poses significant challenges for companies' innovation capacity. According to data from CEFIC, European Chemical Industry Council, the report presented by Roland Berger, shows that “closures of chemical plants in Europe multiplied by six since 2022, reaching an accumulated capacity of 37 million tons (or around 9% of European production capacity)”.

The data revealed by CEFIC are concerning by pointing towards a slowdown in new investments, loss of competitiveness, and long-term viability of the European chemical sector.

The European Council reached an agreement on the simplification of chemical product regulations, presented by the European Commission on July 8, 2025, as part of its sixth omnibus package. This proposes amendments to the CLP Regulation (classification, labeling, and packaging of substances and mixtures), and the Cosmetic Products Regulation, among others. These updates and many more will be reviewed next May 21 at the Spain Cosmetic Ingredients Regulatory Summit.

The dialogue and common objective is to improve the competitiveness of the European Union, the reduction of costs and the simplification of administrative procedures for companies, while maintaining a high level of protection for consumers and the environment.

The newest of this second edition

  • 5 key industry associations: Stanpa (National Association of Perfumery and Cosmetics), AEFAA (Spanish Association of Fragrances and Food Aromas), AINIA, AEIC (Spanish Association of Cosmetic Ingredients) and Beauty Cluster.
  • 13 presentations divided into 3 main content blocks, which will cover cosmetic ingredients and fragrances, finished product (emphasizing sunscreens), packaging, labeling and artificial intelligence.
  • 1 round table where you can ask experts directly.

Pending the publication of the complete program, AEIC and Beauty Cluster already have more than 200 registered for the conference, highlighting the great event that took place last year which served to clarify and inspire the more than 150 industry professionals who attended this first edition of the event in Barcelona.
