AITEX brings together more than 160 professionals of the cosmetics sector

AITEX held last Wednesday a conference focused on trends and innovation in the cosmetics sector in the Valencian Community

The second edition of the Cosmetics Industry Meeting brings together more than 160 professionals from the sector. AITEX held last 9th November in Alcoy a day dedicated to expose and learn about the latest trends and innovations in the field of cosmetics. 

The cosmetics day began with the opening speech of León Grau, president of AITEX, who thanked all the attendees for their presence.

After the inauguration, Adrià Martínez, Strategic Project Manager of Beauty Cluster, explained the key points of artificial intelligence in the cosmetics industry. New experiences such as virtual and augmented reality and even the metaverse will play a relevant role in the future of the sector and concepts such as transparency and intellectual property will be of special interest.

Afterwards, the attendees learned about the role of AITEX in a cosmetics company facing the challenges of the future from Isabel Soriano, AITEX Deputy Director of Laboratories and International Offices, and Maria Blanes, Head of the Cosmetics and Health Research Group. Both recounted the investments made by the centre in 2023 to provide service to companies in the sector and focused on important issues such as quality controls, microplastics and biodegradability in cosmetics. María Blanes took the opportunity to explain the steps involved in creating a serum with banana skin extract and grape pomace.

Afterwards, Álvaro Díaz, STANPA's technical advisor, discussed the regulation of cosmetics. He explained that consumer protection is always sought through initiatives that assess risk in the sector.

After a coffee-break, five leading companies in the sector presented their star products. Consuelo Vaquer, CEO of Nirvel spoke about "Nutre Color Out", a product consisting of a Remover and an Activator that manages to eliminate unwanted tones of the direct colouring Nutre Color. Olivia Llorens, Brand Manager of Germaine de Capuccini explained "Timexpert Hydraluronic", a hydration and topical filler treatment that recovers and preserves the skin's hyaluronic acid reserves. Berta Vázquez from Suavinex, "Suavinex Kids", the cosmetics that parents need and that children love. Carolina Robla, director of Natural Cosmetic Lab presented "Natural Carol", solid cosmetics designed to provide solutions to beauty and hygiene needs. And, finally, Marta Soria from Montibello unveiled "Retiderma", a high-performance pro-youth facial range based on biotechnological and sustainable active ingredients that offer unprecedented effects in skin regeneration with maximum tolerance.

The day concluded with a round table discussion on the impact that artificial intelligence will have on the future of beauty and cosmetics, providing interesting ideas on regulation and training of future professionals in the sector. Moderated by Ivan Borrego, from Beauty Cluster, the participants were Ana Rocamora, Vice-president SEQC, Fernanda Lopez, Director Master cosmetics Universidad Politécnica de Valencia UPV, Belén Chiara, Technical Advisor STANPA and María José González, Director Qualliance Consultancy.

Vicente Blanes, CEO of AITEX gave the closing speech: "I would like to congratulate all the people who have participated in this second edition of the cosmetics congress and thank all the institutions and cosmetic companies that trust in AITEX as a technological partner for testing and certification".

Afterwards, the attendees took part in a guided tour of the facilities of the new AITEX building.
