The Iberchem Group achieves a net sales record of €250 million in 2022

The company also announced new achievements in sustainability, managing to reduce CO2 emissions by 85%

Iberchem Group, part of Croda International Plc., published the financial results of the year 2022 that stand out by a strong performance in the markets of high growth. The company surpasses once again to the industry with a growth of two figures, and attains to reach a historical record of sales of 250 million euros, that represents an increase year-on-year of 21%.

"Our strong position in emerging markets, the breadth of our customer base and the synergies from our partnership with Croda, as well as the acquisition of the French fragrance house Parfex, have been key to this remarkable growth.", explains in a press release of the company the vice-president Senior of Scents and Aromas, Richard Butler. "Our teams have been able to weather the difficult economic environment. The Iberchem Group's unique business model has once again proven its resilience and success, which translates into long-term profitability and value creation for our shareholders."

José Balibrea, Managing Director of Iberchem Group, part of Croda's Consumer Care division, added that favourable results have been achieved in all product categories "We delivered solid financial results in all categories and markets, despite an adverse operating environment in some of the countries affected by high inflation. Our rapid growth is testament to the excellent work of our employees, the agility of our operations and our ongoing commitment to being there for our customers. As we move forward, we aim to focus on high-growth sectors and strengthen our sales network worldwide to deliver on the recently presented five-year business plan 2023-2027" concludes Balibrea.

Iberchem reduces its emissions by more than 85% and obtains the RSPO certification for sustainable palm oil

On the other hand, the company with headquarters in Murcia, has received this month of March for the first time the triple stamp "Calculate, Reduce and Compensate". This seal, promoted and created by the Spanish Government, recognises the efforts of Spanish organisations in the calculation and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions generated by their activities. In the case of Iberchem, it has managed to reduce its CO2 emissions by 85.14% between 2018 and 2021 and to offset 100% of its scope 1 and 2 carbon footprint by 2021 with CO2 absorption projects.

José Manuel Frutos, head of the Quality, Prevention and Environment department, highlighted the efforts made by the company in terms of sustainability and stressed that they will continue to improve in order to become even more sustainable and environmentally friendly. "Our commitment does not end here. Every day we look for new ways to reduce and offset the impact of our activity. Our commitment goes beyond our headquarters. In 2021, we launched a decarbonisation programme for each of our 24 subsidiaries around the world, joining the commitment of our parent company Croda."

In the same month, Iberchem announced that its headquarters in Alcantarilla, Spain, received certification from the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO), a non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting sustainable palm oil production worldwide, for mass balance palm oil production. The fragrance company makes it clear with this recognition that it actively participates in this industry initiative to make sustainable palm oil the norm.
