Susonity has become part of the company Global New Material International Holdings Ltd. (HKSE: 6616). The transaction officially closed on July 31, 2025, transferring ownership from Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany, to GNMI, China.
With this strategic development, Susonity further strengthens its innovation and technical service capabilities, adding a fourth global production location in China, expanding its reach to more customers and market segments, and extending its catalog to new substrates, assets, effects, colors, and materials.
Susonity, which has been developing pigments for surface solutions since 1959 and has a solid track record of leadership and innovation in the coatings and cosmetics industries, maintains its headquarters in Darmstadt. Building on a strong legacy with iconic brands such as Xirallic®, Iriodin®, Rona®, and Timiron®, the Susonity and Chesir (GNMI's pearlescent pigment brand) catalogs are highly complementary.
