Beiersdorf has expanded its manufacturing centre in Barcelona, specifically in Igualada, to increase its production capacity, where it manufactures 50% of the world's production of its wound dressings.

The German giant, which owns brands such as Eucerin and Nivea, has invested a total of nine million euros in this expansion, with a strong focus on the future. After this improvement in the production centre, the space now has a surface area of 1,700 square metres and a new office area, in which the 'open office' concept dominates to develop a positive working environment.
As the company has detailed in a statement, this action has a vision for the future to strengthen the supply chain in Europe, especially in Spain, where they have a large presence.

According to Europa Press, the growth experienced by the brands in recent years, which has led to an increase in the volume of production, has forced the factory to increase the number of resources in the production centre. In 2022, Argentona has reached the production record with 100 million boxes, while in 2017, they were around 70 million.

As published by the news agency 'Europa Press', the inauguration was attended by the Conseller d'Empresa i Treball de la Generalitat de Catalunya, Roger Torrent along with the mayoress of Argentona, Montserrat Capdevila. The company's Vice President of Supply Chain Europe and North America, Malte Schulz and Sebastián Marchante, Head of Manufacturing Europe, as well as Ana María Morales, Country Manager Spain and Portugal, were also present.
