Beiersdorf has been strong in the face of market uncertainty during the first six months of the year. The German manufacturer maintains optimal growth and has managed to increase sales and profits, as explained in a press release.

The group posted sales of 4.9 billion euros, 8.89% more than last year. In terms of sales, they have grown by 12.3% compared to the same period last year. Europe, North America and Latin America have led the group's growth and good results.

Beiersdorf attributed this growth in particular to one brand in its portfolio: NIVEA. The group's most important brand with 100 years of history has grown by 17.9% in sales and has done so in all its products, especially in sun protection and lip products. Eucerin and Aquaphor together account for 26.1% of the group's global sales. Demand for these two products has grown exponentially in the Americas, both in North America and Latin America. In both regions Beiersdorf also expanded its market share of the Derma brands, especially in the anti-ageing, body care and sun care categories.

The luxury brand La Prairie, however, has not been the architect of this growth for the German company. La Prairie reported a 9.9% drop in sales in the first six months. The high-end cosmetics firm posted sales of 294 million euros, a relatively lower figure than in the first six months of 2022: 328 million euros. This decline, as the company indicated in the statement issued at the beginning of the month, was due to the decrease in travel retail, especially by Asian consumers.

Following the good results, the German group continues to grow in the remainder of the year, especially in the consumer business area.
