BASF grows by 5% more in 2024. The German chemical company has invoiced a total of 1,426 million euros in Spain, as explained by Carles Navarro, general manager of the company in the country.
Carles Navarro, accompanied by Daniel Campo, the commercial director, and the co-general director of BASF Digital Solutions, Thomas Kirchhoff.
The 2024 results reverse the downward trend presented by the 2023 results, and the growth comes from the increase in sales volumes, as prices have fallen by 4%.
Navarro explained at the press conference presenting the results that the European chemical sector is going through "a difficult time" due to high energy costs and very demanding regulation by the European Union.
The company's forecast for 2025 is to increase investments to 54 million euros and allocate them to improving technology, increasing capacity and promoting sustainability. The Tarragona plant will be the company that will receive the largest number of investments, followed by Guadalajara, Marchamalo, Castellbisbal, in Barcelona and, finally, Zona Franca.
